Seminar | A Mass Cytometry Surrogate for Light Scatter | Adeeb Rahman

Mass cytometry offers the advantage of allowing the simultaneous measurement of considerably more parameters than conventional flow cytometry. However, mass cytometry lacks the forward and side light scatter measurements (FSC and SSC, respectively) that are an integral part of flow cytometry. FSC and SSC provide some information about the heterogeneity of cell size and granularity in a sample, independent of any specific antibody labels. I will describe the use of osmium labeling as a potential surrogate for light scatter by mass cytometry.
