The ever-increasing popularity of mass cytometry has added momentum to the field of computational high-dimensional data analysis, not only bringing about development of new methods but moving the entire field closer to the average bench scientist than ever before. It is, however, a fast-evolving field, and the average scientist is still in need of a comprehensive, well-documented, well-supported and easy-to-use solution that builds upon the developments of the past decade. I will discuss Cytobank, a cloud-based data handling platform (storage, analysis, sharing) and its take on the problem at hand. It offers a well-rounded set of tools for visualization and analysis of high-dimensional single-cell data and represents a balanced platform to start exploring CyTOF® datasets.
